Hello!

Pastor Susan began her licensed pastoral ministry serving  Millwood United Methodist Church (UMC) in July 2016 and began also serving the congregations of White Post and Boyce UMC in April 2016.

All About Me

Pastor Susan retired after more than 35 years in counseling, serving in private practice, consulting, public schools, and as adjunct faculty at George Mason University. She holds a B.A. from Bridgewater College, an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University, and a Ph.D. in Grief Counseling from Breyer State University.

She has long been active in ministry, including Youth, Family, Women’s, and Couple’s Ministries, as well as leading spiritual retreats, marriage enrichment, parenting programs, and grief support. She has recently been recommended for Associate Membership in the United Methodist Church and is currently pursuing training in Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Formation.

Pastor Susan and her husband, Tommy Catlett, have been married 37 years and share four children and nine grandchildren. They love time with family—Tommy enjoys fishing and serving through food ministries, while Pastor Susan cherishes creating memories with her grandchildren, quiet reflection in nature, and prayer.

Pastor Susan is honored to worship and serve with the Brucetown and Emmanuel United Methodist Church congregations. She is passionate about sharing God’s love and grace, supporting one another in discipleship, and offering hope to a hurting world. She values the Methodist heritage, especially the call to do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God. She looks forward to serving together in faith, love, and outreach as United Methodists.
